DANVERS- Barbara A. Bevan, 85, passed away suddenly in her home on September 19, 2020. Barbara was the loving wife of the late David R. Bevan with whom she shared 56 wonderful years of marriage prior to his passing in 2011. Born and raised in Revere, MA, she was the daughter of the late William and Evelyn (Ross) Young. She retired from ITW Devcon in Danvers, MA, after 34 years of service. Barbara, most affectionately known to all as Nana, found the most enjoyment in spending time with her family and friends. Nana shared her wisdom, kindness and love with all who knew her. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, never missing a game. However, her greatest passion in life was her beloved family. She thoroughly enjoyed and cherished participating in every family event, her Wednesday visits with her sisters Dottie and Joyce, and playing dominos with her friends on Saturday evenings. Barbara is survived by her children, David Bevan and his wife Darlene, Scott Bevan and his wife Barbara, Denise Sarro and her husband Ron, and Dotti McBournie and her husband David, all of Danvers. She was predeceased by her daughter Nancy McHugh, who resided in Windsor, VT with her husband Joe. She is also survived by her sisters Evelyn Bell, Dorothy Johnson, and Joyce Carey. She was predeceased by her sisters Paula Holland and Patricia Sheehan. Barbara’s pride and joy were her eleven grandchildren, Nicole, Scott, Jason, Brittany, Ashley, Tommy, Joey, Jared, Jaclyn, Brooke and Sherrie and her precious nine great grandchildren, Kayleigh, Ava, Addie, Kallen, Aiden, Brynn, Mason, Evan and Alyssa. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her very dear friends. Visitation will be held from 5-7PM on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. All attendees are required to wear face coverings, practice social distancing, and are respectfully asked for no physical contact with the family.
