Barbara Ann “Barb” (Santerre) Harrison, 67, of Amesbury, MA, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Anna Jacques Hospital following a brief illness. Barb was born on October 24, 1953 to the late Paul and Mary Santerre in Salem, MA. After graduating from Salem High School in 1972, she pursued her career as a Payroll Coordinator. In 1983, Barb married the love of her life, Jerry Harrison. They lived in Amesbury and Georgetown before retiring to Lake Attitash in Amesbury. Barb loved living on the lake, and enjoyed sitting on the back patio, watching the sun set, and spending time with her close-knit group of neighbors and friends, and especially her best friend Lisa. An avid reader and animal lover, Barb could often be found snuggling on the couch with her dog Kasie and cat Heidi, while reading. She also enjoyed going out to dinner with friends and family, and playing a few rounds of her favorite game, Keno. Barb was a loving mother and mother-in-law, and a doting Nana to three. She was a huge supporter of her grandsons, Ryan, Tyler and Connor, and every phone call to them ended with an “I love you”. Always quick to laugh, Barb was a great listener and gave wonderful, warm hugs to those she loved. She loved fiercely, was loved by many, and will be missed tremendously. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mary, and her son, Patrick Harrison. Barbara is survived by her loving husband Jerry, her son and daughter-in-law Michael and Karen Harrison, her grandsons Ryan (13), Tyler (10) and Connor (9), her brother Michael Santerre of Salem, nephews Joshua Santerre and family of Danvers, and Benjamin Santerre and family of Salem, her best friend Lisa Colby, and a beloved extended family. Barb’s graveside service will be on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 11AM in Pine Grove Cemetery, Haverhill Rd., Topsfield. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Barb was an awesome person and an amazing friend. She was always ready to give you a huge hug and always made you feel welcome and loved. We loved talking about Pokemon! I’m sorry you didn’t get to go with me to get your nose pierced. 😔I will miss you immensely but I know you are no longer in pain.

  2. Barb was a kind, caring and thoughtful person. Always willing to help those she loved.  I’m so grateful to have so many memories, I will cherish them forever. Of all the gifts life could send, the best is knowing she was my friend.  Rest easy, Barb.  You will be missed.

  3. Barb,
You welcomed me with open arms since we first met. Checking in on me when you saw my car was in the driveway when I was supposed to be working, bringing over meals during my medical journey, and always inviting me to play keno and drink Mai tais. You were a neighbor that turned into family. Andy and I love you and will miss you so much. The sunsets won’t be the same without you. We promise to keep Jerry safe.

    To Jerry and his family,
May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. Please accept our deepest sympathies. Andy and I are only a few steps away.

  4. Barb, I have known you for almost 40 years. You were my brother’s soulmate and the love of his life. You were such an awesome mother to my nephews and great-nephews as well as their Mom. I am proud to call you my sister-in-law but also my friend. We shared so many memories together. I can’t believe you are gone. Give my love to Dennis. Rest in peace, my dear friend. I’ll see you again someday! Love you, Barb!

  5. I have had so many adventures with my Auntie Barbaraand Uncle Jerry! As a young child, we always had girls weekends together and as I grew up we always shared the same size shoe and I was always getting her shoe hand me downs! During this crazy year with Covid, Aunt Barbara and Uncle Jerry were in my “Covid Bubble” so I got to enjoy the lake with them and celebrate Christmas with them which was so nice! Visiting Lake Attitash won’t be the same without you! I love and miss you so much! RIP Auntie Barbara and say hi to my Dad for me!

  6. Dear Jerry and Family, I just want to express the sadness I felt to hear of Barb’s passing. Seems unreal. I wish there was something I could say or do to easy the pain. Jerry, what you two shared was truly special. Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories…You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. My sincere condolences…

  7. We are saddened to hear the news of Barbara’s passing. The cousins from the Price side of the family are scattered and we have rarely been in the same place at the same time. There would be much laughter when our mothers and fathers would gather. We send our caring thoughts and sympathy to the family. Carry forward all the treasured memories and share them often to keep them close at heart.

    Sincerely,
Cousin Linda (Weltner) & Bill Thompson
