Barbara J. Walsh

Barbara J. Walsh, 84, died October 10, 2017. She was the wife of the late David A. Walsh. Born in Great Barrington, she was the daughter of the late John and Sophia Johannson. She was raised and educated in Springfield where she graduated from Cathedral High School. She worked as a secretary in the insurance industry for many years and then as a secretary for the Essex Agricultural Society for fifteen years until the time of her retirement. A Topsfield and Boxford resident for more than sixty years, she was a parishioner of Saint Rose of Lima Church. She leaves two children, Brenda Walsh of Peabody and William Walsh and his wife Paige of Haverhill, three granddaughters, Stephanie Igoe, Alexandra Didlake and Madison Walsh, three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Olivia, and Kennedy, her sisters-in-law, Jeannette Bradstreet, Rosemarie Walsh and beloved friend James Silva, her brothers-in-law, James, Edmund and his wife Evelyn, Richard and his wife Barbara, and Phillip Walsh, and several nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017 at 10AM in Saint Rose of Lima Church, Park St., Topsfield. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Topsfield. Visitation will be in the church prior to the Mass beginning at 9AM. Relative and friends are invited.
