Beatrice Kimball

September 13, 1923 ~ March 7, 2020
Beatrice (Burns) Kimball passed away peacefully in Peabody on Saturday, March 7, 2020 surrounded by her loving daughter, Kerri, and her beloved grandchildren.
Bea was born on September 13, 1923 in Ipswich to the late John and Marion (Flynn) Burns. She spent her childhood in Gloucester attending St. Ann’s School and Gloucester High School. During WWII she felt a duty to serve and spent time as a member of the United States Coast Guard. Shortly after the end of the war, she met her future husband, Frank, and they spent the next 73 years by each other’s side - raising their daughters, doting on their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, traveling and spending time with their extended family and friends. Bea and Frank loved hosting and their house was always filled with laughter, good food and great company.
Bea was an extraordinary, fun-loving woman who would do anything for those who were lucky enough to know her. She loved her family deeply and always went the extra mile to make sure they knew how much she cared – she was the most amazing wife, mother, sister, aunt, nana, “nana banana” and “nana the great”. Her family adored her and will miss her sassiness, her wicked sense of humor, her adorable forgetfulness, her silly little songs and sayings and her homemade frappes, which she perfected during her time working in the cafeteria of Beverly Hospital. When she wasn’t with her family you could find her watching QVC or the ball game (she and Frank were avid baseball fans), shopping the latest fashions at Talbot’s (she was always the most stylish Nana around) or out to dinner for her favorite fried clams. She truly lived life to the fullest and made the most of her 96 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Kerri (Kimball) Amor and her husband Bobby, Colleen (Kimball) McMahon and her husband Kerry; her 5 grandchildren, Peter Moodie and his wife, Sara, Rhiannon (Amor) Goehlert and her husband Tim, Courtney (Moodie) Murphy and her husband Brian, Rory (Amor) Akim and her husband Boris, Colby (Amor) Gryb and her husband Jake; and her 11 great-grandchildren Caroline, Cadence, Becca, Carter, Eli, Owen, Reece, Peyton, Kolten, Levi and Wayke, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 73 years, Frank Kimball, her sister Joan (Burns) Rocha, her brothers John, Bobby, Billy, Neil, Father David Burns and Brother Thomas Burns and many friends who she considered family.
To honor her wishes, funeral services were held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bea’s memory may be made to All Care Hospice, 210 Market St., Lynn, MA 01901. Arrangements are by C.R. Thank Kerri for sharing your mom with me for 65 years. Twice a year I would see her for a weekend. She was at my College graduation, Wedding.. My very very lows and my high highs.
We send her to be with Frank.

You darling will forever fill my heart. Will you tell John and lu and Frank , I miss them.

I extend my mother’s and my sincere sympathy with the passing of your mother. Many good times were had on Burley Farm Road. The welcome mat was always out, and I always felt comfortable at the Kimball abode. I will never forget your mother’s rooster collection. OMG., I don’t think I ever saw so many in one place. The small oaks that surrounded a homemade sand box are now huge, but if I look hard enough, I can still see that sand box! Warm thoughts Kerri and Colleen…..
