DANVERS- Betty A. (Ragon) Delp, 80, passed away on September 1, 2019 in Beverly Hospital. She was the wife of the late Ronald W. “Buck” Delp, Sr. Born in Salem on May 15, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Mildred (Eaton) Ragon. Betty was a lifelong resident of Danvers and graduated from Holten High School in 1957. She also graduated from the Chandler Secretarial School in Boston in 1959. She had been an administrative assistant for nearly 24 years at NFI Shelter Care in Middleton, NFI Lakeside in Peabody and NFI in Amesbury, retiring in 2016 at the age of 77. She made longtime friends that still got together every year from NFI. Prior to that, she was employed with Omni-Wave Electronics in Gloucester for 20 years as an administrative assistant to the comptroller. Her children meant the world to her and she was so proud of their accomplishments, and her grandchildren, both of whom she adored and was so proud of the fine young adults they became. She enjoyed attending her granddaughter’s equestrian events and her grandson’s soccer games. Most memorable were the trips to Disney World with all of them. And in her spare time during warmer weather she enjoyed sitting on her back deck watching the birds and flowers she grew. She is survived by her children, Pamela and Joshua Saul of Danvers and Ron and Lee Ann Delp of West Newbury, her grandchildren, Cassandra and Trevor Delp of West Newbury, her beloved cat, Beau, her cousin, Perley Eaton and his wife, Palma of VA, sisters-in-law, Lola McAdoo and Donna Delp, many nieces and nephews on her husband’s side of the family, her best friend of 51 years, Judy Colbert and longtime neighbor, Shirley Levine. Her Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Friday, September 6, 2019 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St Danvers. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, 30 Sylvan St Danvers. Visitation will be held from 4-7 on Thursday, September 5, 2019. Betty had requested that friends and relatives attending her services wear bright colored clothing. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Betty’s name to Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem, MA, 01970.
