Carol Flynn

DANVERS- Carol (Shay) Flynn, 91, peacefully passed away in her home on March 15, 2018. She was the wife of the late William C. Flynn.
Born in Salem on October 16, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Eva (Smith) Shay. Carol was raised and educated in Salem and graduated from Salem High School. Carol had been a longtime resident of Danvers, where she and her husband raised their family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Flynn and her husband, Richard Durkee of Danvers, her grandson, Erik Flynn and his wife, Jennifer of Danvers and her two great granddaughters, Delani and Lila. She was predeceased by her two sons, William Flynn, Jr. and Robert Flynn and her brother, Leroy “Bud” Shay.
Carol's funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Carol’s name to Plummer Youth Promise, 37 Winter Island Rd., Salem, MA 01970 or Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem, MA 01970.

I am privileged to have a 60 year history of connection and affection with the Flynn family. Carol will always be one of my favorite people – understated – non judgemental – patient and kind. May she rest in peace. And sympathies, of course, to Cheryl and Dickie, and grandchildren and great grandchildren .
