Carolyn DeMatteo

DANVERS- Carolyn (Hiltz) DeMatteo, 88, passed away peacefully, in her home surrounded by her friends and family on August 12, 2017. She was the wife of the late Albert DeMatteo with whom she shared over 40 wonderful years of marriage. Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Florence (Hopkins) Hiltz. For over 60 years, Carolyn had resided in Danvers, where she raised her family. She enjoyed art and antiquing. She is survived by her children, Susan Hartwell Landers of Danvers, John Hartwell and his wife, Susan of NH and Robert Hartwell of NH, her grandchildren, Ricki Anne Hartwell and Nicholas, Amy and Erin Hartwell, all of NH, her stepchildren Dee Foley of Danvers and George DeMatteo of CA and many nieces and nephews. Carolyn is resting in the Lord’s hands now and will be dearly missed. Carolyn’s Funeral Services will be held privately at the request of the family.
