Celia Agnes Morrissey

PEABODY- Celia Agnes (Lops) Morrissey, 92, passed away on November 18, 2020 in Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley J. Morrissey, who passed away 28 years ago on Dec. 25, 1992.
Born in Leominster on October 17, 1928, she was the 4th child of Italian immigrants Michael and Agnes (Villani) Lops. She was predeceased by her sister, Nancy Lanza of Leominster in 2008, brother Dante Lops of Beverly in 1993, brother Anthony Lops of Richmond, VA in 1980. After residing in Buffalo for 20 years, she and her husband returned to MA in 1985. They settled in Peabody and she proudly worked as a cashier at Your Market in Danvers (McKinnons) until Nov 19, 2010 when she retired at the age of 82.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Sandra Morrissey (Trey DiMartina) of Buffalo, NY. Celia was adored by her husband's extended family as well as her own. Her nieces truly doted on her and regularly took her out to lunch which she greatly enjoyed.
She was a joy to all her knew her and was very happy living at The Tannery for 24 years. She will be sadly missed by her dear friend of 68 years Catherine "Kay" Decoulos of Peabody. Her family sends a special thank you to Angela O'Brien for her dedication, kindness & compassion.
