Charlotte M. Dean

September 23, 1940 ~ April 22, 2020
On the afternoon of April 22, 2020, Heaven opened their doors and welcomed a beautiful, loving and caring woman. After a brief illness, Charlotte M. (Pellerin) Dean passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving son Douglas, in the comfort of her home.
Born in Maine on September 23, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Alfred & Lillian (Fournier) Pellerin. She was raised and educated on the North Shore. Charlotte had been a resident of Danvers for over 50 years. She was a clerk for the Salem District court for many years.
Charlotte enjoyed spending time with her loving friends, doing puzzles, reading, going for ice cream, knitting and playing cards with her friends. Saturday morning yard sales were a great adventure. Always enjoyed going out for a morning breakfast. Most of all, she enjoyed her home.
She loved animals, especially her cats; Baby, Samantha and Kai.
Charlotte is survived by her children, Douglas Dean Jr. of Danvers, Charlene Surprenant and her husband Edward of Maine, Cheryl Fancy of Beverly and Christine Ruest of Danvers, her grandchildren, Cory, Marc and Scot Surprenant, Amanda Fancy, Adrienne and Bryce Ruest, her great grandchildren: Sylas and Sienna Craig and her adopted son Anders Brogarde.
A special thank you to the wonderful care from her doctor, Spencer Amesbury and loving staff.
Charlotte’s celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlottes name to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem, MA 01970.
Where to begin? I have decades of memories starting with growing up right across the street from Charlotte and continuing all the way to a long chat at her kitchen table just a year ago. Even though I live across the country today, Charlotte would always shout a hello across the street every time I’d come back home to visit my family. I always enjoyed her Boston accent, her caring ways, her concern and empathy for others, and the special relationship she had with her son Doug.
Thank you Charlotte for the memories. Enjoy your everlasting life in Heaven, your reward for a life well lived.
Sincerely,
-Sandra Kowalski
Charlotte was welcoming me to Massachusetts from moment that I arrived. After my own mother passed we kept in touch and went to dinner and breakfasts many times. Charlotte was a gentle sweet loving person that I enjoyed socializing with. She will forever live in my memory as one of the beacons of light in my life. Charlotte rest in peace, I love you!
I used to see Charlotte every day when she worked at Salem District Court. She was always so helpful and kind. Please accept my condolences. — Julie Manganis
