Chester J. Dembowski

July 10, 1953 ~ May 2, 2021
DANVERS- Chester J. “Chet” Dembowski, Jr., 67, passed away surrounded by his family on May 2, 2021 at Kaplan Family Hospice House. He was the husband of Susan (Murphy) Dembowski with whom he shared 35 years of marriage.
Born in Salem on July 10, 1953, he was the son of the late Chester and Irene (Richard) Dembowski. Chet was a lifelong resident of Danvers and graduated for Danvers High School in 1973. He sold tools for Snap-On before starting a successful contracting business in 1985, Chet Dembowski and Son, General Contracting. Nothing was more important to Chet than his family. From the moment you walk into his home, family photos fill every inch of space on the walls and line every surface. Most of those photos being of trips to Disney World. He was a Disney Vacation Club member since 1993 and looked forward to the annual family trip every November.
Chet was a car enthusiast and had a special fondness for the Chevy Corvettes that he owned over the years. He was also an excellent cook from the early years he spent in his father’s restaurant. He was especially good at making pasta sauce. The taste was always worth the big mess he made.
In addition to his wife, Susan, he is survived by his children, Christopher and his wife Sara Dembowski, Jill Dembowski, and Lyn Chadder and her husband Michael, all of Danvers, his grandchildren, Madison, Connor and Paige Dembowski and Wesley Chadder, his sister, Jane Dolliver of Danvers and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Diane Marquis.
His Graveside service will be held at 9:30AM on Friday, May 7, 2021 in Annunciation Cemetery, Hobart St., Danvers. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. All attendees are required to wear facial coverings and are kindly asked to practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chet’s name to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St, Danvers, MA, 01923.
So sorry to hear this Sue. Chet and I grew up right next to each other on Donegal Cir. We basically were in the same playpen. After we both got married we drifted apart but something always got us back either me borrowing the car trailer or Chet up the house to do some work. Joan and I are still in shock over this news thank you so much for calling me and I am so sorry we can not be up there with you and your family. Looking forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks. So saddened to hear of Chet’s passing. Saddened and shocked. Over the years Chet spent many hours at my home building, renovating and anything else I could come up with! I only trusted Chet to do the work. He was great to work with as well as his crew. I will miss Chet as my “go to guy”. Chet, may you rest in peace.

My condolences to the Family. I will miss Chester, our banter over the years, he was a class act. We had a history of over 30 years, from the CJR days to 2021. Christopher, if there’s something Josh can’t supply, give me a call. Rest in Peace my friend.
