February 24, 1947 ~ November 12, 2025

Born in: Llandudno, Wales
Resided in: Danvers, Massachusetts

David Ellenton passed away peacefully on November 12th after a long, hard fought battle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinsons Disease. Dave was a loving husband for 56 years to Pauline Ellenton of Danvers, who cared for him until his last breath.

Born in 1947 in Llandudno, Wales, he moved to Hull, England as a child and attended Hull Grammar School, he treasured being an “Old Grammarian”. In 1964 he met his “Polly”, they married in 1969 and soon settled down to raise a family on Windsor Road.

In 1983, he and his family moved to the United States, beginning a new chapter of their lives in Danvers. Dave built a career in the seafood industry, serving as the General Manager of Cape Seafoods in Gloucester until his retirement. His leadership and genuine care for those he worked with earned him respect across the industry. His work took him around the world but his British roots remained strong, he enjoyed a pint in a local pub and football or rugby on the TV. Dave was a huge soccer fan and lifelong supporter of Manchester United FC. He coached Danvers Youth Soccer and spent hours on the sidelines cheering for Danvers High and St. John’s Prep. He was passionate about the sport and was ejected from a few games, to his great pleasure.

Later in life Dave dedicated his time to the thing that mattered most, his family. He was happiest with Pauline by his side, traveling, and spending time with their grandkids, Lily, Bobby, Owen, and Mikey, who all adored him. He was so proud to be their Grandad and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for them.

Dave is survived by his wife Pauline, their daughter Kerstie Hazelbaker and husband Steven of Goffstown NH, and son Justin Ellenton and wife Mary Kate of Ipswich. He is also survived by his brother Alec and wife Jackie of Hull, England. He was predeceased by his mum and dad, Eve and Les, and his brother Bob. Dave’s laughter filled every room, and his spirit will live on in all who were lucky enough to know him.
