DANVERS- David Lord, 79, passed away on December 19, 2021 following a lengthy illness. He was the loving husband of Carol (Guastaferro) Lord with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. Born in Salem on March 1, 1942, he was the son of the late Edwin and Ann (Harrigan) (Lord) Swan. He served his country with the Unites States Army and was honorably discharged. He received his associate’s degree from North Shore Community College. He retired as treasurer from Mutual Fire Insurance of N.E., Inc. In his youth, David had been a Boy Scout in Danvers and became Assistant Scout Master for a troop at Fort McPherson in Atlanta, GA while stationed there. David had an extensive collection of electric trains with a large layout and attended many train shows. He enjoyed playing games at the Club House and the Senior Center, as well as setting jigsaw puzzles and playing computer games. After retirement, he and his wife sailed on many cruises and enjoyed trips with the Senior Center. In addition to his wife, Carol he is survived by his sons, Richard Lord of Revere and Kenneth Lord and his wife Lori of Danvers and two granddaughters, Rebecca and Samantha Lord. He was predeceased by his brother, Raymond Lord. His funeral services were held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s name to a charity of one’s choice.

  1. My deepest admiration to Carol and the children for the inspiring love and loyalty they gave to David in his journey to a final resting place. David and I were in Boy Scouts nearly 70 years ago. He was a good man and leaves a family truly good and loving.
