Dolores T. “Del” (Lemay) Hartman, age 95, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, following a period of declining health.
Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, on January 6, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Laura (SanSouci) Lemay. Dolores was raised and educated in Woonsocket and was a graduate of St. Clare High School.
Del worked for many years as a dental assistant and held positions with New England Telephone and Telegraph, Varian, and the Ferncroft Hotel. A longtime resident of Peabody, she also lived in Danvers and, most recently, in Topsfield. Dolores was a devoted communicant of St. Richard Church in Danvers.
Her greatest joy came from being with her family. She was a proud and loving grandmother and great-grandmother, and her grandchildren were truly the light of her life.
She leaves her daughter, Anne DeStefano of Topsfield; her son, Peter Bibeault, and his companion, Peggy Ricker of Salem; three grandchildren: Kara DeStefano of Amesbury, Tyler DeStefano of Ipswich, and Andrew Bibeault of Beverly; four great-grandchildren: Harrison and Ella DeStefano and Freddie and Hailey Rittall; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson, Jeremy Bibeault and by her siblings: Henry Lemay, Richard Lemay, Paul Lemay, Suzanne Messier, and Pauline Gagnon.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 13, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Richard Church, 90 Forest Street, Danvers. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers.  At Del’s request, there are no visiting hours.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  Arrangements are by C.R.
