Dorothy M. Curtis

DANVERS- Dorothy (Demmons) Curtis, 76, passed away surrounded by her family on February 14, 2022, following a brief illness. Born in Peabody on March 16, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Mary (Stewart) Demmons. She grew up in a very close-knit family. She was the youngest of eleven children and a lifelong resident of Danvers. Dottie graduated from Holten High School in 1963. She had worked in the medical field until her retirement. Dottie devoted her entire life to her children, grandchildren and family. Her grandchildren were her entire world. She would always attend their sporting events, cheering them on proudly. She was always there for them, in a time of need. She is survived by two daughters, Cammie Pozniak and her husband, Anthony Pozniak of Ocala, FL and Kerri Nessinger and her husband, Michael of Danvers, three grandchildren, Austin Belanger and Cheyenne and Savannah Nessinger, her sister, Doris Lundquist of KY and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, John, Donald, Robert and Harold Demmons and Joyce Hussey, Margaret Moore and Elizabeth Lyons and her longtime companion Jack Emerald. She will be dearly missed by her loyal dog, Sprinkles. Her Funeral Service will be held at 10AM on Monday, February 21, 2022, at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Sylvan St., Danvers. Visitation will be held from 4-6PM on Sunday, February 20, 2022, from 4-6PM in the funeral home.
