DANVERS- Edward Anthony Wolniewicz, Jr., 85, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2019 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House. He was the husband of Antonia (van Bommel) Wolniewicz with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. Born in Chelsea on August 22, 1934, he was the son of the late Edward and Genevieve (Busz) Wolniewicz. He was raised and educated in Beverly and graduated from Bentley College with a double major in accounting and business management. Ed served his country with the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was stationed in Germany, where he met his wife, Antonia, originally of Uden, Holland. Ed loved spending time with his family, fine dining, musical theater, travel, reading and history. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time in his back yard. He was an avid athlete and sports fan and followed the Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics. In addition to his wife, Antonia, he is survived by five children and their spouses, Mechelina and Dr. Peter Hjorth of Danvers, Mark and Janet Wolniewicz of Danvers, Richard and Kathy Wolniewicz of Magnolia, Laura and Charles Lindberg of Portland, CT and David and Catherine Wolniewicz of Danvers, nine grandchildren, Christopher Hjorth, Erica Hjorth, Dylan Wolniewicz, Jennifer Lindberg, Kelly Lindberg, Sarah Wolniewicz, Benjamin Wolniewicz, Robert Wolniewicz and Jack Wolniewicz and two great grandchildren, Alexander Esposito and Ethan Hjorth. Ed’s wishes were that his funeral services be held privately. Expressions of sympathy may be made in his name to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St, Danvers, MA, 01923.
