Eugene Szalla

Eugene ‘Gene’ Szalla Jr., died April 20, 2017. Born to Helen & Eugene Szalla Sr., of Lockport, NY Gene had lived with his partner Jeffrey Ostrer in Boxford, MA since 1984. Gene also leaves his sister Michelene Szell of Williamsville, NY, niece Willow Cheeley-Driscoll of Andover, cousins in New York & Florida. Gene was a commercial space planner and designer in eastern Massachusetts. He was known for both his gentle kindness & passionate bluntness. His creative energy, his bravery and his productivity were boundless. Until his rest he had been in ceaseless motion his entire life. No immediate service is planned. Instead of flowers, those of a mind to do so should support charities serving the preservation, care, well-being and rescue of animals.
