Everett J. Amor

May 22, 1938 ~ November 25, 2020
TILTON, NH- Everett J. Amor, Jr., 82, passed away on November 25, 2020 in the New Hampshire Veterans Home. After surviving a lengthy bout with cancer, Everett passed away from Covid-19. Please wear a mask.
Born in Groveland on May 22, 1938, he was the son of the late Everett, Sr. and Marion (Poor). Everett served our country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. He had a long career as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver, working many years at Rochester Turnkey Waste Management and later at Boston’s Big Dig on Deer Island, where he proudly wore his ‘We take crap from everybody’ t-shirt. He enjoyed fishing on his boat, snowmobiling, and ‘resting his eyes’ during NASCAR, his snores drowning out the engines. He could sketch on a cocktail napkin and convert it to a scale, colorful, freehand mural on the side of a semi. His family suspects he’s holding up the line in front of St. Peter with tall tales of pranks and shenanigans.
He is survived by daughters, Catherine Clark of NV, Tina Amor of NH, and Lindsay Amor of OR; brother, Robert Amor, Sr. of MA; sister, Bertha Haskins of NY; and two grandchildren, Audrey and Ben Clark of Boston, MA and many nieces and nephews.
Due to the pandemic his family plans to have a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Everett’s name to NH Veteran’s Home, Tilton, NH, whose staff provided Everett with such wonderful care.
So very sorry for your loss, Cookie Reid

I remember dad always joking around with the staff at the veterans home, and them giving it right back to him, which he loved! He was known as trouble ( in a good way )and loved it lol!!! He was very happy there, and the staff was great with him!!! Every day he would look forward to having his hot chocolate and every week getting his vanilla shake no matter what season it was. Plus recieving alot of goodies and gifts every week that were sent from family, even though he knew he wasn’t supposed to have some of it (candy)lol. I miss and love u dad, till we see each other again. Tina
Reading more about Everett brought a smile in a time of sorrow. I looked forward to seeing your dad enjoy the activities here at the New Hampshire Veterans Home, like bowling at Funspot (picture shared on Facebook attached) and sharpshooting with the Nerf gun. Thank you for sharing your dad with us. He was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed.
Dad and I were not always on the best of terms, but I know he tried. He did the best he could. I’ve always viewed these tribute pages as being for the living, so I’d like to pay tribute to a living person. I’m grateful for my sister, Tina. She made sure she was there for our Dad during his last days. She gave us all the opportunity to talk to Dad. She “dressed up” every day in PPE and exposed herself to this virus so he would not be alone. Ensuring we all had the opportunity to speak with him and let him know, as far away as we were, he had family who cared about him. Tina has also been the “boots on the ground” when it came to arrangements, Dad’s belongings, etc.
Tina, my little sister. My Bambino. You are a rock.
