Gabriel E. “Gale” Paonessa, 96, passed away on October 24, 2025 in Kaplan Family Hospice House. She was the wife of the late Antonio C. Paonessa.

Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada on September 20, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Issac and Helen (Ronan) Keough. Gale was raised and educated in Newfoundland, Canada. She met her husband, Antonio, while he was stationed in Canada with the US Navy. Gale and Antonio married and raised their family in Danvers.

Gale is survived by her daughters, Helen Norton of New Hampshire and Beth Cadmus of Danvers, her grandchildren, Thomas, Brian, Nathan, Taylor and Simon, two great grandchildren, her brother and sister-in-law Beverly and Cosmo Paonessa and many nieces and nephews and extended family in Newfoundland. She was predeceased by her son Michael and siblings, Lucy, Michael, Veronica, Richard and Francis.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 10AM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. She was a Mother and Aunt to many even those who were not blood related but who was welcomed into your home in Danvers , Mass from Newfoundland. The memories that were made will be talked about for years to come . She will be remembered and missed by her Keough family here at home .
