Gerald L. “Jerry” Fuller, 89, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2019. Born in Santa Maria, California on September 15, 1929, he was the only son of the late Joshua and Helen Fuller. Jerry was a United States Army veteran and served in Korea during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953. A jazz musician by profession, Jerry was an accomplished clarinetist. He made many recordings and made numerous television appearances as a member of the Jack Teagarden Orchestra and as an original member of the Dukes of Dixieland. In the 1970s and 80s Jerry was the band leader at Romie’s Quarterdeck in Danvers, and also played with local Jazz greats including Don Doane and Jim Karolides. Jerry is predeceased by his wife Joan (Petrullo) Fuller, and step-son, Philip Sheremeta. He is survived by his daughter Janine Fuller of Danvers and her wife Kim Cromidas. His Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 10AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jerry’s name may be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
