DANVERS- Helen J. (Dzierzek) Welch, 92, passed away on May 9, 2017 in Rosewood Nursing Home. Born in Danvers on April 10, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Dlugas) Dzierzek. Helen was a lifelong resident of Danvers and a communicant of Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church. She graduated in 1943 from Holten High School. Helen had been employed for over 20 years as a supervisor at the Hogan Regional Center and retired in 1990. She had previously worked for Hotwatt in Danvers Square for several years. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerold and Mary Jane Welch of Peabody, three grandchildren, Katie Welch, Sarah Welch and Greg Welch and his fiancée Cassie Remare. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews including her very special nieces, Loraine Albeiro, Judy Dery and Terry Diorio. Helen was predeceased by all her siblings, John, William and Edward Dzierzek, Rose Bolognese, Sophie Morris and Frances Kasprzyk. Helen’s family thanks the wonderful staff at Rosewood Nursing Home including her very special nurse, Shayna Thompson. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9AM on Saturday, May 13, 2017 in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Visitation will be held form 4-7PM on Friday, May 12, 2017 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Helen’s name to the Make-A-Wish America Gift Processing, 4742 North 24th St., Suite 400, Phoenix, AZ 85016.

Helen will truly be missed, it was with great pleasure to care for her, her smile her feisty behavior at times her unique hair style that she had to fix every day will leave a lasting imprint on my heart.     I was saddened to hear of the passing of your mother. Living next door to her parent’s while I was growing up meant that I saw a great deal of her in those years. The video posted here was truly a trip down memory lane for me. Your mother was a remarkably beautiful woman and I will always remember the joy on her face the first time she carried her baby boy into her parents house. I was on the side steps and she bent down to make sure I saw you. In later years I would run into her at Market Basket and the picture of her there brought a smile to my face.
    My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.
