Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Our son Billy loved visiting with Jimmy while checking out at Henry’s. Since Jimmy knew of our participation in Revolutionary War reenactments through the Danvers Alarm List Company, he would bring Billy relics from his visits to various battlefields while on vacation. Billy asked for him often and he was greatly missed. Sincerest condolences from the entire Clemens Family.

  2. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy at such a difficult time as this. Thoughts and prayers, Alice (Lipinski) Tierney

  3. To the George Family,
I was a waitress at the Village Green many years ago when Jimmy was the officer on duty on weekends. I am so sorry for loss. You have my heartfelt sympathies.
    Sincerely,’
    Carol Carter

  4. Jim came into my Verizon FiOS store in Danvers Sq. to pay his bill and ask questions on his account. He was always so pleasant and even brought me in pictures of what the location looked like in the old days. He always had a smile on his face. He was one of my favorite customers. Sending you prayers and I hope your wonderful memories with him will help ease your pain during this difficult time.

  5. I will remember Jimmy as a kind and generous friend who represented everything that is good about Danvers

  6. One day, after Maple Street School let out, a fight between 2 boys started across from the school on High Street (or maybe it was down a side street). It was picking up momentum, and a crowd of kids formed around the fighters. Seemingly out of nowhere, Officer Jim George appeared and broke up the fight, and told the 2 boys AND everybody who was watching to follow him. Well, we all thought we were in trouble, until he led us into the candy store and bought the whole group candy, and said, “Don’t fight! Have some candy and be friends!” I’ve never forgotten that–what a gentle and generous soul. Journey on, Officer George! My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

  7. I will always remember him always taking time to stop and say Hi whenever he came into Walgreens. A true gentleman.

  8. I will always remember Jimmy as a good cop, and a champion of our Youth and our Troops. A true Townie…. But also a dear friend…. Rest in Peace, Jimmy. Sympathy to Helen and the Family…..Barbara Vorel Lambert

  9. It is hard to imagine Danvers without Jimmy George in it. Jimmy George didn’t talk about what needed to be done, he did what needed to be done. He served his country in the military, his town as a police officer, his community as an example to the many young people he reached out to and a stalwart symbol of what it means to continue giving by his dedication to the efforts of Operation Troop Support. His presence in this town will be missed but never forgotten.
My sincere condolences to his family.

  10. My deepest condolences to the family . Jimmy was the reason I became a police officer. Thank You Jimmy

  11. Grampy,

You are my world! I miss you each and everyday. You made me the strong lady I am today. I will do all I can to make you proud forever. I will miss our talks, laughs and jokes. You are my hero and I will love you forever.

  12. I remember getting a haircut from Jimmy and asking for a square back cut and he told me that I would need a permission note from my parents. That was back in 1969 in Danversport. My condolences to the family. Mike Tuck

  13. RIP my old friend. We had a fun ride bagging at Henry’s for many years. Glad to have developed a solid friendship with him. I will greatly miss him. Brian A. Fumarola
