John J. Dannaher

John J. Dannaher, 89, died Wednesday morning, July 12, 2017 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. He was the loving companion of Edith R. Santa Maria, with whom he shared the last twenty-two years of his life.
Born in Cambridge on May 15, 1928, he was the son of the late John and Katherine (Kelly) Dannaher. He was raised and educated in Somerville, and served honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII.
John worked as a carpenter for most of his life.
A Danvers resident for nearly twenty-five years, John enjoyed ballroom dancing and spending time each summer at his camp in Wakefield, NH. He loved spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his beloved Edie, he leaves her daughter, Toni Knights and her husband Stephen of Franklin and their sons, Curtis, Mitchell, and Bradley, a sister, Theresa Rodibaugh, two brothers, James Dannaher and Thomas Dannaher and his wife Katherine, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Dannaher.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 11AM in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will be private. As requested, there are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s name may be made to the Friends of the Danvers Council on Aging, 25 Stone St., Danvers, MA 01923.
