John J. Doyle Jr., aged 82, passed away surrounded by his family on April 22, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Noreen (Ambrose) Doyle, with whom he shared 58 happy years of marriage.
Born in Beverly on July 14, 1942, John was the son of the late John and Eileen (Moran) Doyle. Raised and educated in Danvers, he graduated from St. John’s Prep in 1960 and went on to attend Boston College. John proudly served our country with the Air Force National Guard during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged.
John had a long and distinguished career as an insurance agent. He initially worked with Liberty Mutual before opening Doyle Insurance Agency in 1987. His business success was fueled by the motto: Old Fashioned Service. He was extremely active in his community, being a member of the Touchdown Club and the Friends of the Meadows. He also coached Little League and softball. John rarely declined a donation request from a local youth or high school sports organization. He loved the “Oniontown”.
An avid golfer, John, had two hole-in-ones and shot his age a few years back. John was a longtime member of Wenham Country Club and then Salem Country Club. He enjoyed winters in his home in Naples, FL and summers with his family in Harwichport. John made friends easily, loved a good joke, and never missed a party or social function.
In addition to his wife, Noreen, John is survived by three children, Sean Doyle of Newbury and his partner Tricia Philpott of Ipswich, Kara Curran and her husband Mark of Danvers, and Julie Livingston and her husband Steve of Scituate. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Jack Doyle, Shea Doyle and his wife Alisha, Regan Doyle and her fiancé Anthony Cordoba, Riley Doyle, Tommy and Johnny Curran, and Nora Livingston, his great-granddaughter Molly June and several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his sisters, Myrna Franklin and Joan LeBlanc.

To Noreen and family,
I want to express my sympatry to you. I have known John for several years and he always had a smile. I will miss our conversations when I drop into the office. He was always so positive about life.
We have so many amazing memories of spending time with the Doyle family on Cape Cod. John was always in the thick of the fun, with his silly jokes, and warm personality. We loved spending time on the porches with him. We will miss his sense of humor, and kind heart, he was truly one of a kind! Love, from the Cape Cod Archibalds

We are so sorry to hear of John’s passing, but are grateful that his battle is over. He’s had a tough few months. We have so enjoyed socializing with him, and Noreen, at Bill Shea’s in HarwichPort, and are so glad we were included in the birthday celebrations! Our thoughts are with you all, who John loved so dearly.
To the Doyle family
John was one in a million. He was not only my boss but a friend as well. From the moment I started at Doyle ins in 2015 he made me feel welcomed and like I was part of the family. I will miss the jokes, trivia, the debates, the list goes on but mostly I will miss Johns friendship. He cared deeply for those of us lucky enough to be in his circle. I will cherish the memories and be thankful to have had our lives cross paths. I hope you can golf every day in Heaven.
I already miss you xo
Love always

John was a wonderful man. Any time you entered Doyle Insurance Company he would come out and asked how are doing and how was the family. Just the other day, I received my yearly birthday postcard from John and the team. He never missed a client’s birthday. I am so sorry for your loss. May John rest in peace. He will be missed by many.
To the Doyle Family,
John was one of the best. Since I met him around 1990 or so I considered him a friend and loved catching up with him at the office. May his memory be a blessing. God Bless you all.

To The Doyle Family,
I am beyond heart broken for you all. This is defiantly a throat punch. John was one in a million. He might have been my boss for 22+ yrs, but he made me feel more like family. We had our own Doyle Family in the office, from our crazy stories, fun outings, luncheons, and etc, days consisted of everyone talking over each other and lots of laughter. He touched so many whether he was giving out sponges or adding you to his email chains. John’s memories will be cherish in my heart forever. To The Doyle Clan,
I am so very sorry for the loss of Johnny; the Man, the Myth & the Legend. He was one of the good ones; a great husband, family man and friend to many. You were all blessed to have had each other and there is peace in that. I loved his energy and he always had a smile on his face. I have old pics of my younger years with the Doyles and our fam together…Trick or Treating in Marblehead, Topsfield Fair etc and Johnny and Noreen attending my wedding. I wish you all love, healing and grace. XO
