Kathleen A. Wilson

September 17, 1935 ~ September 29, 2021
Kathleen A. (Hennessey) Wilson, 86, of Danvers, died Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Kay grew up in Lawrence Mass, the grandchild of immigrants who along with Kay's parents worked the textile mills that once fueled a thriving City, Kay often reflected on her younger days growing up in a City that represented what America once was. That period didn’t have the same luxuries as today. Things where simple, basic; and from a young age Kay understood that as simple and basic as they were they had substance and meaning. They made a difference. This is what Kay leaves behind to those who knew & were close to her; not the strength of a loud voice and boastful talk, but the strength of spirit, purpose, courage character, perseverance, humor, civility, intellectual curiosity, and decency.
The family moved to Danvers in 1960 where along with her husband of 66 years raised a family; Kay worked in retail at Jordan Marsh & then at Sears until her retirement in 2005, in her leisure time Kay enjoyed drawing, reading, watching scary movies and trips to the beach to ride the waves…..
And with courage and resolve Kay spent her last summer knowing she wouldn’t see another season begin and she did so without complaint but with quiet strength.
Kay leaves behind Stewart Wilson her husband of 66 years, her children Darlene (Vilasini) Wilson of Kneeland, California, Norman Wilson & his wife Barbara of Biddeford, Maine, Valerie Rheingold & her husband Michael of Haverhill, Mass, and Keri Wilson of Danvers, Mass. Grandkids Nissa, Gerard, and Kimberly, Great Grandkids Serena, Meera and Phoenix and her favorite grandson Coleby Wilson, who she raised to be a young man with character, perseverance, humor, civility, intellectual curiosity and decency.
That’s what legacy is. That is the “what” that Mom, Nana, Wife, friend left behind and that is the “what” that matters…
