SALEM- Linda S. (Grady) (Crease) Barbuto, 70, passed away on January 11, 2015 in Essex Park Nursing Home in Beverly. Linda graduated from Revere High and attended Junior Fisher Secretarial School. She started working at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in 1962 as a Sales Representative and worked in Boston and Weston. Although they didn’t have children, Don and Linda shared and enjoyed watching their godchild Melinda Sheridan grow and mature. Although disabled most of her adult life, she did enjoy barbecues and socials with her neighbors and friends including many fun Saturday nights at Brother’s in Wakefield. Don passed away in 1996. She met and married John Barbuto in 1998 and with John and friends enjoyed a trip thru Holland and Belgium during Tulip Time. At that time, they were active members of St. John’s Parish in Peabody. John passed away in 2005. Linda enjoyed watching the jewelry stations (and buying) loved shopping and caring for her two cats. With her trainer, walking was a big part of her life to help combat some of her physical problems. Linda leaves a few cousins and uncles. Most of all, she leaves her longtime friends of 52 years Kathy and Jim Sheridan. Helping her through all of these hard times for eight years was her good friend Marshall. Ann, Michael, Mia, Delores, Amanda, Carol, Maureen, Eileen, Melinda and Philippe were there for her always. We will all miss her as she has been a constant part of our lives. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10AM on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in Saint Richard Parish, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St. Peabody. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass from 9-9:45AM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Fibromyalgia Foundation at fmaware.org, the COPD Foundation, 3300 Ponce Leon Blvd, Miami, FL 33134 or any Massachusetts General at Danvers fund would be appreciated.

Guestbook

  1. I remember Linda from her days at St John the Baptist Parish in Peabody. She was a dedicated volunteer, always smiling, always very fashionable. I was very touched with how well she cared for her husband John Barbuto through his illness. She was a devoted, loving wife. May she rest in peace. God Speed, Linda.
