Lorraine D. Pyburn

DANVERS- Lorraine D. (Robinson) Pyburn, 86, passed away on June 26, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Pyburn.
Born in Salem on August 10, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Henri and Bernice (MacGregor) Robinson. She was raised and educated in Danvers and graduated from Holten High School. Lorraine worked at several local businesses throughout her life, including United Baby Shoe, St. John’s Preparatory School where she served the Brothers. She worked many years as a bookkeeper for E.C. Mitchell Co. and then worked at Curran Florist before retiring. Lorraine was an avid bowler and a member of The Unionettes women’s league for many years. She also enjoyed her time as the score keeper for Lyle’s women’s softball team. She had a strong competitive nature when it came to any form of card, board game or puzzle and never refused a challenge at backgammon. She also had a love of gardening. Lorraine especially loved spending summers at Balch Lake, Thompson Lake and Sebago Lake with family and friends.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Robert and Denise Pyburn of Danvers, Bruce and Lisa Pyburn of Hiram, ME and Lori Pyburn and Julie Torode of Danvers, her grandchildren, Jeremy, Casey and Haley Pyburn, Katelyn Leone and Victoria Comeau-Bernard, her siblings, Deborah Galiatsatos and her husband, Omeros of Danvers, Sharon Theiling and her husband, Skip of New Hampshire and Bruce and his wife Yasuko Robinson of Danvers and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Henry Robinson.
Her funeral service will be held at 10AM on Friday, July 2, 2021 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Thursday, July 1, 2021 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the MSPCA www.mscpa.org or the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA, 01970.
