DANVERS- Louise A. (Phippen) Ives, 93, passed away on April 1, 2019 in Hathorne Hill Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Robert S. Ives. Born in Salem on June 23, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Elsie (Thompson) Phippen. Louise was raised and educated in Danvers and graduated from Holten High School. She loved animals and had dachshund dogs for many years. Louise also loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time at the wildlife sanctuary in Topsfield. She was a past member of the Mass Audubon Society. Louise and her husband enjoyed spending weekends at the Tamworth Inn in Tamworth, New Hampshire. She is survived by her dear friend, Shirley LeBlanc of Danvers. Louise’s friends would like to thank the Hathorne Hill staff for their special care they gave Louise. Her Graveside Service will be held at 11AM on Friday, April 5, 2019 in Wadsworth Cemetery, Summer St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Louise’s name to the Mass Audubon Society, 208 South Great Rd, Lincoln, MA, 01773.

  1. I remember Louise and Bob fondly from when I worked at the food counter at Lloyd Pharmacy, and they had their insurance business upstairs. They would come in twice a day for coffee, with their faithful dachsie – Ivey – in tow. How they loved Ivey and the subsequent Ivey whom they rescued some years later. Such lovely people, always a kind word and greeting for everyone. Rest In Peace, Mrs. Ives, you are with your sweetheart again. Fondly….Barbara Vorel Lambert
