Margaret I. Peterson

Margaret I. “Peg” Peterson died Monday afternoon, January 28, 2019 at Hathorne Hill in Danvers after a lengthy illness. She was the loving wife of Carl E. Peterson, with whom she shared sixty-eight years of marriage.
Born in Revere, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Olive (Fraser) Fitzgerald. She was raised and educated in Revere and she had been Danvers resident since 1953.
A faithful, daily communicant of Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, Peg was active in many ministries there, including as a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, a eucharistic minister, Marriage Encounter, and the Mr. & Mrs. Club.
She enjoyed reading and knitting in her free time.
In addition to her husband, she leaves three daughters and sons-in-law, Carla and Rob Lee of Danvers, Deborah and Chris Makros of Florida, and Beth and Harry Hicks of New York, her grandchildren, Bryan Lee and his wife Kristy, Matthew Lee, Kristopher Makros, and Seth, Tristan, and Julie Durling, three great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Eric, and Ethan, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Eric Makros.
Peg’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019 at 9AM in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Peg’s name may be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
