It is with great sadness that the family of Michael Scaparotti announces his passing on August 31, 2018 at the age of 71 years. Mike, of Amesbury and formerly of Byfield, was raised in Lynn and graduated from Lynn English High School. He later earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education from Salem State College. Mike retired in 2010 after teaching in Beverly public schools for 42 years. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Mike was a great cook, enjoyed traveling, and avidly read about the Civil War. Mike will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Elizabeth (Salvo) Scaparotti, his daughter Joanna Scaparotti, daughter Andrea Grossi and her husband Joseph, daughter Alyssa Scaparotti and her husband Craig DiCarlo. He will be greatly missed by his four beloved grandchildren Makayla, Tyler, Brett and Isaac. He is also survived by his brother Richard Scaparotti and wife Colleen, sister-in-law Stella Beausoleil, sister-in-law Jean Salvo, brother-in-law Thomas Salvo and wife Jane Albert, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nephews, and grand-nieces. Mike was predeceased by his parents Dominic and Elvira Scaparotti, wife’s parents Ralph and Catherine Salvo, brother-in-law Robert Beausoleil, and brother-in-law Frank Salvo. His Funeral Service will be Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 11AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-7PM in the funeral home. A private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike’s name to Pettengill House, 13 Lafayette Road, Salisbury, MA 01952.

  1. As Mike’s former sister-in-law, I can say that Mike’s kindness was unsurpassed. Mike was extremely kind and thoughtful and I was very fortunate to be part of his family for a long time. May God bless his entire family.
