Patricia A. (Nadeau) Crosby, 79, died Monday, January 24, 2022 at her home in Danvers following a decade-long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of James G. Crosby, with whom she shared fifty-eight years of marriage. Born in Danvers on Nov. 19, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Rita (LeClair) Nadeau. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a 1960 graduate of Holten High School. Pat dedicated her life to her family. She took great pride in her children and many grandchildren. She enjoyed spending as much time as she could with those that she loved. Never a quiet person, Pat went out of her way to make new friends and talk to everyone she encountered. She never met a stranger! Pat loved to travel. The Caribbean, in particular St. Maarten, was a favorite vacation spot. Many trips with Jim to Alaska, the Greek Isles, Europe, and Disney cruises with the whole family created countless happy memories. She enjoyed her collection of hats, shoes, and pocketbooks, and loved gathering seashells on her favorite beaches—especially Orient Bay! A lifelong Danvers resident, Pat was a communicant of Saint Richard Church. In addition to her husband, she leaves her children, Michael Crosby of Danvers, Theresa Clancey and her husband Sean of Georgetown, Christopher Crosby and his wife Alison of Georgetown, and Kathleen Ross and her husband Michael of Topsfield, her daughter-in-law, Lesley Crosby of Danvers, her brother, James Nadeau and his wife Penny of New Hampshire, and her adored grandchildren, Benjamin, Riley, Justin, Jennifer, and Mateo Crosby, Kyle and Kelsey Clancey, and Bethany and Jared Ross. She was predeceased by her son, David Crosby, and her granddaughter, Allison Crosby. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 10AM in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. A celebration of life luncheon will follow at Danversport, 161 Elliott St., Danvers. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Monday from 4-7PM in C.R. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I grew up with Patty (as I called her). She was an Island girl and a sweet girl. She married Jim and off into the sunset they went. I give my condolences to the Crosby family and especially to Jim. It has been many years since we have crossed paths, but I always will remember when we were young growing up in Danvers. May Patricia rest well now, and walk with the Lord and enjoy the beautiful singing of the Angels in her eternal Paradise. Charlie

  2. I always called her “Patty.” She and Jimmy and I were classmates at the Tapley school and we were first classmates 73
Years ago. She was always upbeat and joyful, kind and it’s no wonder, I knew her beautiful parents and they were just as nice. Jimmy has been a loyal and faithful husband and friend, and I send my sympathies to Jimmy and the children, and to all of Patty‘s friends. She fought a courageous battle, was beautifully cared for, and I will always cherish her memory.

  3. So sad. Pat and Jim, David and I double dated for our Senior Prom.

Pat and I met in Junior High and were classmates and friends.
She and I would get into trouble in short-hand class in High School. The class was just before lunch period. Our tummies would begin to growl and Pat and I would get the giggles and the teacher would stop everything, turn around to see who was laughing. By then, we had our heads down and with serious looks plastered on our faces.

Oh, I have such wonderful memories of the four of us and the time we spent together in and out of school.

David and I would see Pat and Jim at the Senior Center for Jim’s wonderful dinners. I said to Jim the last time we saw him there, “who would ever have thought that the four of us would someday be having dinner together here at the Senior Center”.

My heart goes out to Jim and their wonderful family. And especially to Jim. I just lost David Dec. 19th after his seven year battle with dementia and I know what Jim went through being Pat’s loving caregiver. It was never easy, but Jim, as I, will never have any regrets for caring for our loved one.

    Bless you Jim,

    Carol

  4. Pat and I “go way back” to the our knowing each other at “The Island” in Tapleyville.
I am saddened to read that she has left Danvers. She was so vivacious and real always a treat to meet. My sincere condolences to her family and friends. May you all find peace knowing she is at peace. God Bless to all.

  5. To Jim and the entire Crosby family,
Please accept our deepest condolences for your loss. I wish you peace and comfort as you grieve.
