Patricia M Van Geyte 74, of Boxford, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers, with her family by her side. Patricia fought a courageous ten-year battle with Alzheimer’s.
Born in Lowell, MA, Patricia was the daughter of the late Milton J. Williams and Frances A. (McQuade) Williams. Patricia was raised in Dracut, MA and attended the Dracut school system where she served as a class officer and participated in community volunteer work. After graduating from Dracut High School, she attended Lowell Tech and took continuing classes at UVM, while taking part in a research study on Crohn’s disease.
Patricia worked for Ben Nutter Architects, assisted with a Curves for Women franchise, volunteered in the adult education program at the Topsfield Library where she welcomed many authors to present and volunteered at Saint Rose of Lima where she taught CCD. She was also involved with the Alzheimer’s Association and volunteered for the Alzheimer’s Walk for many years in honor of her mother.
Patricia loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted daughter, loving mother, amazing grandmother, exceptional wife and true loyal friend. Patricia loved music, her flower gardens, photography, and trips to Vermont with her husband Gil. She also treasured exploring Castine, Maine, where her father’s family lived in the 19th century.
Christmas was when her spirit truly shined. She would fill our home with light, laughter, and the magic of the season, carefully decorating our home with lights, holly berries and many other wonderful decorations. The joy of creating memories, sharing warmth and connecting with family was what the season meant to her. Patricia was an elegant woman, known for her radiant smile and the best laugh.
In addition to her beloved husband Gil with whom she shared over 35 years of marriage, Patricia is survived by her children Leah (Piken) Kolidas, her husband Andrew of Newton and their children Annabelle and Alex; Seth Piken his wife Amy Martella of Manhasset, NY and their children Jude, Heath, Davy and Sethy; Leslie Piken and her wife Amy McVey of Reading ; Stephen Van Geyte his wife Hailey of Rochester, NH and their daughter Ivery and Stephanie Van Geyte of Atkinson, NH.
