Paul F. McGinness, 74, of Lyman, ME, died Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford, following a long-fought battle with lung cancer. Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Paul and Eva Louise McGinness. He was raised and educated in the Ryal Side neighborhood of Beverly and participated in the Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps. His family moved to Danvers where he graduated from Danvers High School in 1964. Paul served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps until his discharge in 1973. He attended Boston College and received an associate degree in business. Paul worked for many years in the glass and window industry. Paul enjoyed sharing many a holiday meal and summer vacations at Newfound Lake. Having no children, Paul was always interested in the goings-on of his nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed tennis, skiing, hiking, camping, reading, rock hounding, and jewelry making. Paul’s later years were lived in the State of Maine which he loved for its endless proximity to nature. He leaves a brother, James B. McGinness and his wife Theresa of Danvers, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Richard. His sister, Jeanne Parent, died just eight days after Paul. Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 11:30AM in Annunciation Cemetery, Hobart St., Danvers. All are asked to wear masks, practice social distancing, and refrain from physical contact with the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Saint Vincent De Paul Society, 24 Conant St., Danvers, MA 01923. Arrangements are by C.R.   2. I am so sorry to hear this. Paul was the last of the “Beverly group” that I hung around with. I lived with Paul in Boston and we had many great memories. What a wonderful person, always full of fun and life. I will miss him like a brother. Rest in peace Paul.
