Paul J. Charette

DANVERS- Paul J. Charette, 78, passed away on November 26, 2020 in Massachusetts General Hospital following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Burke) Charette with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.
Born in Salem on Jan. 15, 1942, he was the son of the late Joseph and Yvonne (Pelletier) Charette. He graduated from Saint Joseph’s Academy in Salem in 1960. Paul served our country with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. He was employed with Phillips Lighting in Lynn prior to assisting in the management of the maintenance department at the South Essex Sewerage district in Salem. Paul was extremely talented with home improvement projects as well as working on cars and car racing. He had a deep and abiding faith in our Lord and loved his country. Paul was an extremely proud father and Pepere.
In addition to his wife, Joan, he is survived by three children and their spouses, Michael and Mary Anne Charette of Boxford, Glenn and Julie Charette of Boxford and Molly and Brett Flowers of Michigan, his beloved grandchildren, Kalin and Claudia Charette, Lyndsey, Meghan, Emily and Allyson Charette and Burke and Anabelle Flowers, his sisters, Diane Charette of Salem and Janet Bouchard and her husband Allan of Maine and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Rita Boivin, Claire Pelletier and Roland Charette.
Paul’s service will be private due to the pandemic. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Paul’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN, 38105.
Uncle Paul was a wonderful uncle with a great sense of humor. We always remember him with a smile on his face. We loved him and we will miss him.
