Philip A. Loreti

DANVERS-Philip A, Loreti, age 91 years, died on June, 21, 2018.
He was the husband of his loving wife Dorothy M. (Duffy) of 66 years. Born in Beverly, son of the late Berardino and Gaetana (Macri) Loreti, he was a graduate of St. John’s Preparatory School class of 1945 and The Catholic University of America class of 1951 with a degree of Bachelor of Electrical Engineering. He served with the First Division of the U.S. Marine Corps in Tientsin China during World War II.
Upon graduation he was hired by BOMAC LABORTORIES of Beverly, one of the first electronic manufacturing companies to locate on Route 128 in early 1950. BOMAC LABS was acquired by Varian Associates in 1959. He retired from Varian Associates, Microwave Division in December 1991 as International Marketing Manager for Receiver Protector which required him to visit many countries in Europe as well as Israel and India on a routine basis.
During his retirement years he took up golf, bridge, and reading (as many as two books per week). Avoiding the cold New England winters, he and his wife Dorothy became snowbirds in Naples, Florida.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his two sons, Philip A. Loreti, Jr. and his wife Shelley Bertolino of Belmont, MA, Christopher P.Loreti of Arlington, MA, his two daughters, Debra A.Collins and her husband Mark of Winter Springs, FL, and Diane H. Bienkowski and her husband Jeffrey of Portland, ME, brother- in-law Paul L. Hennessey of Beverly and sister-in-law Maureen (Crowley) Loreti of Beverly, and grandchildren, Brenna and Evan Collins of Winter Spring FL and Luke and Matthew Loreti of Belmont MA as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sisters, Carmela and her husband Raymond R. Norwood of Beverly, Ursula R. Loreti and Mary A. Hennessey, wife of Paul L. Hennessey of Beverly, and a brother, Bernard L. Loreti, husband of Maureen Loreti of Beverly.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9AM on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Wenham Cemetery, Wenham. Visiting hours are from 4-7PM on Monday, June 25, 2018 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Philip’s name to the Mary A. Hennessey Scholarship Fund c/o Saint John's Preparatory School, 72 Spring St., Danvers, MA, 01923 or Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers, MA, 01923.
