Raymond W. Dunn

PEABODY- Raymond W. Dunn, 84, passed away on July 1, 2016 in Essex Park Nursing Home. He was the husband of Phyllis (Augusto) Dunn with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.
Born in Peabody on January 21, 1932, he was the son of the late Robert and Mabel (Reid) Dunn. He was raised and educated in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School. Raymond served our country with the United States Navy during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He had been employed as a foreman at Sylvania and was in the Quarter Century Club. He and his wife enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by three children and their spouses, Scott Dunn and his wife, Sandra Kaplan of Peabody, Bruce Dunn and his wife, Lorraine of Peabody and Toni Marie Greener and her husband, Brian of North Attleboro, his brother, Thomas Dunn of Danvers and sister, Laura Barrett of ME, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Catherine Barker, Barbara Court, John and Donald Dunn and Ruth O’Leary.
His Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11AM on Friday, July 8, 2016 in the South Congregational Church, 60 Prospect St., Peabody. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-7PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Raymond’s name to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 480 Pleasant St, Watertown, MA 02472.
I worked with Ray at Sylvania Danvers from 1984-1998, he always had a smile for everyone. Definitely one of the Good Guys. You have my sympathies.
