Richard A. Greenlaw, 71, of Danvers, died Saturday, June 11, 2022 following a lengthy illness. He was the loving and cherished fiancé of his beloved “JoJo,” Joanne M. Burke. Born in Lynn on November 4, 1950, he was the son of the late Arthur and Kathleen (Mills) Greenlaw. He was raised and educated in Lynnfield and was a graduate of Lynnfield High School. Richard then served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, patrolling the demilitarized zone in Korea. He worked for many years as a maintenance technician but had more recently been employed as a driver for Northeast Arc, where his compassionate personality was well-suited for working with people. For many years, Richard enjoyed attending pow wows. For more than two decades, he generously donated his resources, making donations to the Native American tribes in the Dakotas. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing and hunting. He was an amateur genealogist who enjoyed researching his Scottish Highlands ancestry. Richard was a dedicated and active member of the Danvers Veterans Council, where he worked diligently each Memorial Day to ensure that each deceased Danvers veteran was not forgotten. For his efforts, he was recognized as the Grand Marshall of the 2022 Memorial Day Parade. He was a member of Danvers VFW Post 2359 and Danvers American Legion Post 180, as well as the Andover Sportsman’s Club. He will be remembered mostly for his caring and kind disposition, his willingness to lend a hand, and his wonderful sense of humor. In addition to his fiancée, he leaves three sisters, Karen Levesque of Brookvale, FL, Janine Richards of Parkman, ME, and Mary Anne Beyer of New Ipswich, NH, a brother, David Greenlaw of Billerica, and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Visiting hours are Friday, June 24, 2022 from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7PM. 1. Well buddie, your finally at peace, we all miss you. I remember many times from in school us cruising around and hanging out at Dunks in Saugus. I also remember visiting with you at Fort Dix. More recently, having breakfast at Nans and at Freddies.
We all are missing you, but realize that you are now in a better place where you are no longer tormented by the cancer.

Rest in Peace, and I’ll catch up with you later for coffee in the sky..

    Your pal, Mike
