Richard C. Landry

February 19, 1946 ~ July 26, 2022
Richard Curtis Landry, our dear "Uncle Rick", died Tuesday evening, July 26 at Lutheran Home in Worcester after a long illness. He was 76. He faced death courageously and at peace.
Rick will be missed by his nieces and their families. He was the playful, funny, quirky and loving uncle to us all. Sarah, his grand-niece shared a birthday of February 19 with Uncle Rick and a forever bond developed. He loved his family and cherished celebrating the holidays with them. Rick did not dive, so he rode everywhere by bicycle and walked many miles. The seaside was a favorite place. Rick also loved reading and was a history buff. He had an amazing mind.
Richard was a longtime resident of Danvers, Massachusetts, graduating from Danvers High School with the class of 1964. He lived many of his middle years in Vestal, NY.
He is predeceased by his sister, Joan L. Cole; his mother, Donna Landry; and his grandmother, Elizabeth Curtis, all of Danvers, as well as his father Dick Landry of Worcester.
Rick leaves behind his nieces, Debrale Murphy (husband Peter Murphy) and Sherry Gruber (husband Stephen Gruber); brother-in-law, Linwood Cole; grand-nieces, Tara Kantor, Maeghan Hughes, Katelyn Murphy, Rebeccah Smyth, and Sarah Rives; grand-nephews, Christopher Gruber and Patrick Murphy as well as 8 great-grand-nieces and 9 great-grand-nephews.
Memories were shared at a private burial August 3 at Pine Grove Cemetery in Topsfield followed by seafood in Essex, a favorite of Uncle Rick.
Lyons Funeral Home has served our family well over the years. They helped us prepare an intimate gathering at the graveside.
