Roberta N. Douglass

Roberta N. (Anderson) Douglass, 85, a longtime Danvers resident, died Tuesday, June 29, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Lloyd Robert “Bob” Douglass.
Born in Dorchester on Feb. 25, 1936, Bobbie was the daughter of the late Oscar and Rebecca (Greenough) Anderson. She was raised and educated in Randolph.
With her husband and children, she owned and operated Douglass Appliance in Danvers for more than fifty years.
A longtime and dedicated member of the Holy Trinity United Methodist Church, she was a past trustee and a member of the Gathering.
Bobbie enjoyed staying active in Danvers Women’s Softball and Volleyball, skiing, and kayaking.
She loved to laugh and be around people, always making time for others. To her, family was everything.
Bobbie leaves her loving children, Debbie Lathrop and her husband Jeff of Danvers, Brenda Ferris and her husband Scott of Danvers, Lloyd Douglass Jr. and his wife Angela of Danvers, Diana Young and her husband Kurt of Kingston, NH, John Douglass of Beverly, and Glenn Douglass and his wife Debbie of Danvers, her grandchildren, Jenn & Eric Page, Jackie & Sam Shambaugh, Jodi & Dave Armstrong, Jeremy & Andrea Lathrop, Mimi & Eric Lannquist, Holly & Tom Landry, Scott & Melissa Ferris Jr., Lloyd & Diana Douglass III, Joe & Rose Douglass, Matthew Douglass, Sophia DiPaolo, Nikki & James Kiechlin, Emily Janvier, Jay & Sarah Douglass Jr., Brian & Emily Douglass, Andrew Douglass, and Todd Douglass, and twenty great-grandchildren. She also leaves ten siblings, Elsa Eckman, Janet Hidden, Jeannie Maxwell, Anna Igo, Becky King, Suzanne Pinho, Karin Caproni, and Fred, Danny, and Jack Peterson, as well as numerous in-laws, countless nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was predeceased by her sister, Lois Hebert, and her brother, David Peterson.
Her Funeral Service will be Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 10AM in Holy Trinity United Methodist Church, 16 Sylvan St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4-7Pm in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. My heart breaks for all of you. She was such a strong and courteous woman and will be deeply missed. Known as Grammy to us all as I’ve known her for so many years. All those awesome sleepovers on Hampshire st to pool parties in the backyard, she was such a trooper keeping us all well fed and happy 😃. Love to you all
