Roland R. Citroni

Roland R. Citroni, 91, died Sunday, January 29, 2017 at the Soldiers’ Home in Chelsea following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Norma A. (Skinner) Citroni, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage.
Born in Danvers on July 20, 1925, he was the son of the late Louis and Donata (Leone) Citroni. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a lifelong Danvers resident. Rollie served honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Rollie was employed by the Town of Danvers Highway Dept. for thirty-nine years until the time of his retirement. He then worked for nearly twenty years in the Chair Car Division of Lyons Ambulance Service. For many years, he was a Danvers Call Fireman.
He loved golf and was an avid bowler. He also enjoyed his walks around Danvers.
He leaves a daughter, Holly Citroni DeAngelis and her husband Alfred of Saugus, a son, Todd Citroni of Danvers, a granddaughter, Angelina Noel Citroni, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Peg Murphy, Lena Toomey, and Joseph, Gerard, Carlo, Zeke, and Dominic Citroni.
His Funeral Service will be Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 11AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Danvers Firefighters Assoc., PO Box 193, Danvers, MA 01923.

We are SO sorry to hear about Rollie. We truly loved that man! We’ve known him since Sep 1989 when we bought our home across the street, your Parents were wonderful people. We’ll never forget his smile his laugh his kindness! I’ve always enjoyed my visits with him at his house just talking about everything!! He’ll be greatly missed by all!
