Ronald F. Costa, 83, of Beverly, passed away on January 1, 2026, at Beverly Hospital. Ron was the beloved husband of the late Diane J. (Knight) Costa, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage until her passing in October of 2025.

Born in Beverly on November 22, 1942, he was the son of the late John and Annette (Darisse) Costa. Ron was raised and educated in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School. As a young man, he proudly served his country as a member of the National Guard.

Ron was a skilled carpenter and businessman who owned and operated Ron Costa & Sons Carpentry for many years and was a proud member of Carpenters Local 26. He also devoted many years of service to the City of Beverly, working in the Community Development Office. Deeply committed to his hometown, Ron was active in civic life, serving as a City Councilman and as past president of the Ward 2 Civic Association. He also took great pride in working the polls each year alongside his wife and was a past president of the Patria e Lavoro Society.

Ron and Diane loved traveling and especially enjoyed trips to Cancun and other sunny destinations. He also cherished time spent with her at their home in North Conway, New Hampshire. Above all, Ron was a dedicated and loving husband and grandfather who found great joy in his family.

He is survived by his three sons: Mark Costa of Beverly and his companion Kelly Farias, Stephen Costa and his wife Julie of Beverly, and David Costa and his wife Adrienne of Ipswich; seven grandchildren, Meghan, Brett, Kevin, Hannah, Sean, Michael, and Camilla; his brother, John Costa; and several nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at C.R. Lyons and Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm Street, Danvers.
