Ruth A. Connors, 88, passed away on April 14, 2025 following a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Yvonne (Laforme) Connors and a lifelong resident of Danvers.
Ruth grew up on her family farm in Danvers. She graduated from Holten High School and went on to graduate from Saint Elizabeth’s Nursing School. Ruth’s first job as a registered nurse was in the OR of the former Hunt Memorial Hospital. She then went on to take postgrad courses at NYU. She returned to work in the Salem Hospital in the OR, eventually advancing to supervisor of the OR from 1986-1993. Ruth loved to travel, play golf and was a Celtics season ticket holder for many years. She also coached a winning CYO girls basketball team and was a lifelong communicant of Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church.
She is survived by her sisters, Mary Edna McLaughlin of Danvers, and Jean Hollingsworth and her husband, Ed of Wenham, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Daniel, William, Frank, James, and Robert Connors.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10AM on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Saint Mary Cemetery, Sylvan St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ruth’s name to Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, c/o 90 Forest St., Danvers, MA, 01923 or Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St. Suite B102, Danvers, MA, 01923.
