Salvatore J. Palermo, Sr., 79, of Beverly, died Friday, March 8, 2019 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Patricia A. (Tiberi) Palermo, with whom he shared fifty-three years of marriage. Born in Palermo, Sicily on March 16, 1939, he was the son of the late ArcAngelo and Catarina Palermo. Sal’s love of making Italian food—especially pizza—gave him true joy. He was a beloved “Nonno” to his seven grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with his grand-dogs, Marsha and Brady, and his grand-cats, Gypsy-Rose and Sofi. In addition to his wife, he leaves his sons, Christopher Sr., Patrick, and Salvatore Jr., and their wives Wendi, Paula, and Meredith, his grandchildren, Tyler, Nicholas, Christopher Jr., Sofiya, Catarina, Olivia, and Harper. Funeral Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sal’s memory may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923. Arrangements are by C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.

  8. My condolences to the Palermo family. I first met Sal at his sub shop on Eastern Ave in Malden and I followed him to Everett and then Chelsea because he had the best meatball subs! He would always throw in an extra slice of pizza free because I was a faithful regular. He was a sweet guy, very kind. I just saw that he passed and wanted to add my memories of him. RIP
