Teresa F. (Driscoll) McDonald, age 99¾, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 23, 2025, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. She was the loving wife of the late James T. McDonald of Everett.
Born in Malden on January 6, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Annie (McLinden) Driscoll. Teresa was raised and educated in Malden and graduated from Malden Catholic High School. In 1961, she and her husband moved with their family to Danvers, where she became a devoted communicant of Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church. She had a deep devotion to the Blessed Mother and often prayed to the Virgin Mary for comfort and strength.
Teresa will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who listened with love and understanding, always offering a comforting ear and wise words. She found fulfillment in family life and could often be found cheering at her children’s sporting events, proudly attending her grandchildren’s theatrical performances, or later in life, socializing with friends at the Liberty Tree Mall food court. She also found joy in life’s simple pleasures: “a good love story” on the Hallmark channel, a devil dog and ice-cold milk after dinner, and talking on the phone for hours with her best friends.
Even in her later years, Teresa never lost her energy or her spark. She drove her friends around town until age 94 and enjoyed her signature drink, a highball, at family parties right up until her passing. She had an incredible will to live and a feisty, lovable spirit that kept everyone around her smiling.
Teresa is survived by her four children: David McDonald of Haverhill; Nancy Hardenstine and her husband Charles of Groveland; Jim McDonald and his wife Cathy of Raleigh, NC; and Gary McDonald and his wife Nicole of Raleigh, NC. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Derek McDonald and his wife Emily, Ashley Curley and her husband Alex, Laura Hardenstine, and Kyle McDonald; and six great-grandchildren; Leo, Max, John Paul, Vincent, Ambrose, and Dawson. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Leona McDonald, as well as her wonderful nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her great-grandson Leo McDonald, and by her siblings Edward Driscoll, Louise Driscoll, Eleanor Burns, and Ethel “Peggy” Camuso.
