Virginia C. Brown

April 10, 1930 ~ March 28, 2020
DANVERS-Mrs. Virginia C. Brown, 89, passed away Saturday March 28, 2020 after a brief respiratory illness. Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Thomas A. Brown, who passed away in October 1967.
She was born April 10, 1930 in Lynn, to the late Earl and Nellie (Rhuda) Whooten. She grew up in Lynn and graduated from Lynn English High School. Virginia was a long-time employee of Bell Atlantic Corp., now Verizon, prior to her retirement in 1991. She enjoyed crocheting and was considered an avid New England sports fan by those who knew her. She emanated a spirited energy and zest for adventure especially if it happened to involve any of her twelve grandchildren or twenty one great-grandchildren. There was never an empty candy dish or a missed sledding opportunity if Virginia was involved.
Virginia, or Nun as she was called by family, is survived by her older sister, Marjorie DiTullio, of Danvers, but a long-time Lynn resident as well as her three daughters, Susan Estella of Danvers, Sharon Shaheen of Newburyport and Sandra Beaudoin and her husband, Jack of Merrimac.
A graveside service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, July 16, 2020 in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St., Peabody. All attendees are required to wear face coverings, practice social distancing, and are respectfully asked for no physical contact with the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923 or online www.CareDimensions.org.
Sue very sorry to hear of your mothers passing. My thoughts and prayers with you and your family. ginger cross
