DANVERS- William J. Hurley, 64, passed away in his home on January 3, 2021 following a brief illness. Born in Salem on August 21, 1956, he was the son of the late Warren and June (Lavoie) Hurley. He was raised and educated in Danvers and attended St. John’s Preparatory School. William had a long career as a mechanic with Pelletier and Milbury Construction. He enjoyed traveling especially trips to Negril, Jamaica with his companion. He enjoyed the shooting range with his son and friends. William enjoyed all things history, including war movies. He had a knack for assembling wooden boats. He also frequented many concerts and bike weeks. His most admirable trait was his ability to find a creative solution to any problem. He is survived by his son, Shean Hurley and his fiancé Ariana Sanchez of Peabody, his former wife and friend, Laura (DiSabato) (Hurley) Gagnon and several aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his companion, Paula Cowhig and siblings, Julie Hall and Warren Hurley. His funeral services are private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in William’s name to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
