Sharon M. Tufts

Sharon M. Tufts, 68, died Sunday, June 17, 2018 at her home in Danvers. Born in Salem on September 1, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Aaron and Evelyn (Newman) Tufts. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Danvers High School, Class of 1967. She went on to further her education with an associate’s degree from North Shore Community College and a bachelor’s degree from Salem State College. Sharon worked for many years in customer service for Sears, mostly in the Catalogue Division. A lifelong Danvers resident and parishioner of Saint Richard Church, she enjoyed playing bingo and keno, trips to Foxwoods, trivia, and watching Jeopardy. She leaves a brother, Aaron Tufts of Portland, Maine, as well as several cousins and dear friends. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 22, 2018 at noon in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-6PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sharon’s name may be made to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem, MA 01970.
