Philip Jerry Maria, 83, of Revere, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2024, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol Iovanna Maria; his loving children, Lisa Maria-Booth and her husband David Booth, and Marc Maria; and his cherished grandchildren, Noah Booth and his wife Mackenzie, Maria Booth, Melanie Maria, Avery Booth, and Allison Maria. He also leaves behind his beloved great-grandson, Hayden, who affectionately called him “Cookie Monster.”
Born in Revere, Phil graduated from Christian Academy in Cambridge and went on to study at Northeastern University. He built a successful career as an executive and owner in the flooring contracting industry in Boston, where he was known for his leadership and commitment to excellence.
Phil was a passionate antique car enthusiast who spent decades restoring and rebuilding classic cars. He was deeply involved in the antique car community, judging shows and organizing events.
In addition to his love for cars, Phil enjoyed boating on Lake Winnipesaukee, traveling the world—including 21 memorable trips to Italy—and sharing laughs over card games with friends and family. A particularly joyful moment came last year when he proudly officiated the wedding of his grandson.
Phil lived life with unwavering faith, integrity, and drive. He gave his all to everything he did and left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his adoring family and countless friends.
Funeral Services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Phil’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
