A. Charles Ciman
January 18, 2011
A. Charles "Chuck" Ciman, 83, passed away on Jan. 18, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Gloucester. He was the husband of Marjorie (Oulton) Ciman, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. Born in Newark, New Jersey on May 5, 1927, he was the son of the late Natale and Antonia (Cazzanello) Ciman. The family moved to Peabody, Ma. where he grew up attending the Peabody schools. Chuck was considered a jack of all trades who loved the challenge of fixing things. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to a neighbor, friend and most of all his family; generosity was his middle name. Chuck was employed for years by Mercier Plumbing of Danvers as well as working with his son in retail and the plumbing business. Chuck was a lifetime member of the Beverly Elks 1309 and the ICC Club of Beverly. He had a great sense of humor and always loved a "good game of cards". Also an ardent Boston sports fan, with a special love of Boxing. Besides his wife Marjorie, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Charles "Skip" and Jeannie Ciman of Rowley, a daughter Cheryl DiDonato of Beverly, two sisters, Natalie Vitali and her husband Harry of Peabody and Louise Bick of Peabody, three grandchildren, Talia Kenny, Michael Ciman and Erika Fisher and seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson Jason DiDonato and siblings, Leo Ciman and Angela Ciman. The Family wishes to thank the entire staff of Golden Living Center in Gloucester for their exceptional care, compassion and kindness shown to Chuck and his family. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 11AM on Saturday, Jan. 29th at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to Asera Care Hospice, 40 Washington St., Ste 100, Wellesley Hills, MA, 02481.
