Agnes Robinson

Agnes I. (Stafford) Robinson, 91, died Monday, January 18, 2010. She was the wife of the late John P. Robinson, Jr., with whom she shared fifty-three years of marriage. Born in Medford on Oct. 25, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Warren W. and Daisy (Wood) Stafford. She was raised and educated in Charlestown and was a graduate of Charlestown High School. As a young woman during World War II, Mrs. Robinson worked as an aide in the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. Later, she was employed for many years at Empire Clothing in Danvers. A longtime Danvers resident, Mrs. Robinson was a member of the Danvers Art Association for many years. She was an avid birdwatcher and enjoyed reading. She is survived by a son, John S. Robinson and his wife Cynthia of Salem, four grandchildren, Maria, Samuel, Lisa, and Gwendolyn Robinson of Salem, a brother, James Stafford of Lynn, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, William “Sonny” Stafford. As requested, funeral services will be private and there are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Robinson’s name may be made to the Beverly Bookmobile Fund, 32 Essex St., Beverly, MA 01915.
