Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I was so sorry to read this morning in the SF Chronicle of Alec’s passing. My sympathy & condolences to his family. Alec was a wonderful person; he will definitely be missed in this world. For years back in the 80’s-90’s, I started my weekdays at 6 a.m. jogging along the San Francisco waterfront with Alec (well, we’d start out & end together…Alec was definitely a better runner than me). We’d run from the St. Francis Yacht Club to Fort Point, touch the fence under the Golden Gate Bridge, & jog back. It was a wonderful small group of people, with Alec being one of its core members. I have great memories of starting my day with this group. I moved away from SF in 2000 & haven’t had contact with people in this wonderful group for years, but certainly have thought of them & cherish great memories of our time together. I’m sad that I won’t have the opportunity to connect again in this life with Alec. Again, my heartfelt sympathy & condolences on the passing of such a great person.

  2. Alec was a wonderful person and co-worker. I’m so shocked to hear of his passing. I will really miss him. He was always smiling and always cheerful. God Bless all of you. With Deepest Sympathy, Love, Jill Coffman.

  3. Cathy, I was so sorry to hear of the passing of your brother. My prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. God bless.

  4. Alec was one of the nicest guys I had the pleasure of knowing at Del Monte. My condolences to his family.

  5. Alec and I use to work in Ingersoll Rand back in the ’80s. I was so shocked last night when I saw his picture and obituary in the San Francisco Chronicle. It brought me back in time. It was my first job out of college and I remember how kind and considerate Alec was. Although we were in different departments and our jobs required 80% travel throughout the world, every time he saw me he always had a smile (exactly like the one on his picture), a thoughtful greeting, and never forgot my name. It’s difficult to believe I will never run into Alec again in this life. My deepest sympathy and condolences to his family. He will be missed.

  6. I did not know Alec, however, if he was anything like his brother Tom he was a wonderful person. My thoughts and prayers go out to Tom and his family. God bless you all.

  7. My sincere sympathy for your loss. I am so sorry I could not attend the wake, and will be unable to attend the funeral. My thoughts and prayers are with your wonderful family at this difficult time.

  8. I was a friend of Alec’s during high school, along with Jim and Maureen Larivee. My parents (Rose and Mike Cassese) were friends with Alec’s parents.
So many memories of good times that we all shared. We met up for dinner in NYC where I live when he was traveling on business. He was such a sweet, lovely guy – my thoughts and prayers are with the family. May God give you strength during this time of great loss.
    Sincerely,
    Paula (Cassese) McKinnon

  9. My deepest sympathies to Alec’s family. Alec and I were close friends at St. John’s Prep. We had a great summer in 1969 patrolling the Massachusetts N. Shore in Alec’s GTO followed closely by Jim Larivee’s MG. Favorite pit stops included the “Grid Iron” bar in Salem and Crane’s Beach in Ipswich.
We had great times together with Jim and Maureen Larivee, the late Dickie McGinness, Reid Blute Carol Bogel, Paula Cassese and Phil Gaunett to name a few. (Forgive the spelling here.) I did not know Alec had passed until a few days ago. He was a good and kind person.
